We bought the baby cot just in the first trimester and just after getting the harmony test results I decided to make the cot’s canopy myself. Now that i knew this baby is a GIRL it was a lot easier to shortlist the ideas that I have already in my mind. I definitely took suggestions from pinterest as well. So now the material that I needed for making the canopy:
1. Fabric - Particularly flowy material either satin or sheer which is easily available at Spotlight stores in Perth. I bought the sheet curtain material from the ready to hang curtains section.
2. Ring - To hold the fabric in circular form and to make the top part of the canopy. Again it was available at Spotlight. I have used the embroidery hoop.
3. Flowers - The main feature, I knew for sure that i would go for peach, pink, or any similar colour flowers to complete the project. I got the flowers from Kmart.
Other than that I required glue gun, ribbon, hooks to attached the canopy to the roof. I roughly spent $70 - $80 for all the material. Once I had the material ready it was time to get it done. It took me around 3-4 hours to complete the project.
** We added the picture of cot and canopy for announcing the pregnancy news to friends.
